"Between the Ears": God's Forgiveness
Devotions from “Between the Ears" - Mission Mustang Ministry
As I was looking between the ears of my mustang Texas I saw a bundle of white flowers that stood out from the various greens and brown colors all around. The way the white flowers stood out so brightly against the dark background made me think about Isaiah 1:18, which says, “come now, let us settle this matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”
In Psalm 51:7 David, believing in God’s mercy, makes this earnest plea: “Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow”.
Whiter than snow or like wool figuratively expresses the condition of one who has received God’s forgiveness, cleansing from sin, and redemption.
Thankfully, God is loving and merciful – eager to forgive us of our sins! 2 Peter 3:9 tells us, “He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." God desires to forgive us, so He provided for our forgiveness.
I praise God daily that He sent His son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross so that our sins could be washed white just like the flowers on the mountain side.
May your day be filled with many blessings and may you seek God’s forgiveness if needed.
